Nutrition Therapy Approach
I take a personalized approach to counseling clients based on their nutritional needs. There is no “one size fits all” method to achieving better health, as no two individuals are alike! A customized plan achieves the best results. I will teach you how to balance eating for both health and enjoyment, taking into consideration your unique schedule, nutrition goals, and medical needs.
Medical nutrition therapy involves providing education using evidence based science. I take a non-diet, "everything in moderation" approach. Studies show that rigid dieting and deprivation do not work long term. I encourage clients to abandon the diet mentality. Instead, let's work together to make your eating habits and healthy weight sustainable. While there is no "magic pill" to staying fit, it is not impossible to look and feel your best!
All foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle - including dessert! Eating can and should be one of life's great pleasures. We were born with the instinct to know what and how much to eat. Often, dieting and mixed messages from the media causes us to rely on unreliable sources for these answers. It is possible to re-learn how to listen and attend to your body’s hunger and fullness signals.
