Professional & Educational Nutrition Background:
Welcome! I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings. My experience includes adult, adolescent, pediatric and family nutrition. I established a strong foundation beginning my career in clinical nutrition treating patients with various medical conditions at a rehabilitation hospital in Greater Boston. My background also includes nutrition counseling for large acute care hospitals, in addition to a family gastrointestinal pediatric physician’s office. I later found immense gratification as a dietitian at a partial hospitalization eating disorder treatment center in Amherst, Massachusetts.
A lot of my current time and passion as a dietitian is channeled into counseling those struggling with disordered eating, eating disorders, and emotional eating. However, my clinical nutrition experience in the acute and outpatient settings has also afforded me the opportunity to work with clients diagnosed with heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and various other medical conditions that require nutrition intervention.
I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree from Framingham State College. There I participated in the Coordinated Program in Dietetics, under which I completed 1200 supervised practice hours and sat for the National Registration exam upon graduation. I received regular professional supervision in my role as clinical dietitian at the eating disorder treatment facility in Amherst, MA. Additionally, as a requirement of maintaining my status as both a Licensed and Registered Dietitian, I continuously further my nutrition knowledge through ongoing education via seminars, online courses, readings, and webinars.
